Gronkowski first worked with Fox during his initial retirement from playing during the 2019 NFL season. He ultimately returned to the NFL, where he won his fourth Super Bowl with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before announcing his second retirement in 2022.

Fox Sports confirmed Friday that retired All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski will become a full-time member of the "Fox NFL Sunday" crew, replacing Super Bowl-winning coach Jimmy Johnson.

Brady, as part of Fox’s top broadcasting team with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporters Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi, will have the call for the Week 1 clash between the Commanders and Giants on Sept. 7, Fox Sports’ press release Friday also revealed.
