The US Postal Service Board of Governors announced Friday that David Steiner, a board member at FedEx, will be the next postmaster general – a move that comes amid concerns the Trump administration will push for privatization of the mail delivery service,

Steiner will replace Louis DeJoy, whom resigned from the position in March, as well as current Acting Postmaster General Doug Tulino, whom USPS said will resume his role as Deputy Postmaster General and Chief Human Resources Officer.

The U.S. Postal Service confirmed on Friday it will name David Steiner, a long-time CEO of Waste Management and FedEx board member, to become the nation’s 76th postmaster general, handing the reins to the executive while the mailing agency continues to reel financially and is in the midst of major political and operational disruption.
