Shane van Gisbergen is on the pole for the Viva Mexico 250 NASCAR Cup Series race on June 15 at Mexico City. SVG's lap of 1 minute, 32.776 seconds was just ahead of Ryan Preece, and was locked in as the pole-winning lap when rain ended the session with 17 minutes left.

Shane van Gisbergen, who won the inaugural Cup Chicago Street Race in 2023, will look to add a victory in the inaugural Cup race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez after earning the pole for Sunday’s event.
