Arizona starter Smith Bailey held that 3-1 lead until the seventh inning, when Louisville led off with a Garret Pike double and bunt single from Neighbors. Bailey was relieved by Garrett Hicks, who allowed a sacrifice fly by Lucas Moore.

U of L’s bullpen, on the other hand, was once again lights out. Wyatt Danilowicz (1.1 IP, 3 K, 2 BB) and Tucker Biven (4.0 IP, 2 K, 5 H) combined to pitch 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball.

Louisville eliminated Arizona from the tournament with an impressive 8-3 victory in Omaha.

Burbank St. Laurence won the Class 3A state title, while Libertyville and McHenry meet later in Class 4A.

All teams have officially taken the field in Omaha. The second day of the 2025 College World Series saw the four teams in Bracket 2 take their first step towards advancing to the Finals.
