DALLAS -- Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer is taking inspiration from his opponent going into Game 5 of the Western Conference Final against the Edmonton Oilers at American Airlines Center on Thursday (8 p.m. ET; CBC, TVAS, SN, ESPN+, ABC).
Before the Oilers send them off with a humiliating cheer straight out of “The Bad News Bears,” the Stars should at least make some noise first. They’ve come this far, might as well stay the weekend. Maybe try something different.
Two illegal immigrants from Venezuela were arrested in the death of 18-year-old Air Force cadet candidate Ava Moore, who was kayaking when she was allegedly struck by a jet ski.
He was the darling of the Stars’ series wins against Colorado and Winnipeg in the first two rounds. In the third round, Moose has been meek. He has been thoroughly out-played by Edmonton All-Star forward Connor McDavid.
Hintz, who was originally injured after an iffy whack to his foot by Darnell Nurse in Game 2, got another whack early into Game 4 from Edmonton’s Evan Bouchard. Bouchard welcomed Hintz back to the ice by popping him in the injured foot, temporarily staggering Hintz before he was able to skate back to the bench. The play went unpenalized.
