After storms lashed South Florida with as much as 10 inches of rain in Pompano Beach and significant flash flooding in Boca Raton, a taste of fall weather is on its way.
A rare flooding event with a 1 in 1,000 chance occurred in Lake County and northern Brevard County on Sunday, with 15-19 inches of rain falling in just six hours.
Officials are evaluating damage and impacts after several inches of rain fell on portions of Brevard County and Lake County Sunday night, flooding streets, yards, and some homes.
A front moving through Florida has brought heavy rain across the region. Here's a look at the rain totals so far:
Afternoon highs will top out in the lower to mid 80s. The latter, and stronger of the two cold fronts this week will move through Southwest Florida early Thursday morning. This will set up a breezy day on Thursday with wind gusts up to 25 mph.
