Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez threw a brief jolt into the trade market when he left Monday’s game in the ninth inning after being hit in the right hand.

With the July 31 trade deadline nearing, the Brewers added depth and insurance to the catcher spot when they reportedly acquired veteran backstop Danny Jansen from the Tampa Bay Rays.

The trade was announced shortly after the Rays ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win at Yankee Stadium.
