In July 2019, Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce tragically died in his sleep at the age of 20, with his cause of death later being confirmed as a seizure related to his epilepsy. Cameron made his feature film debut at just 9 years old, when he starred in the horror movie Mirrors, which was released in 2008.

On July 28, Boyce’s mom, Libby, took to Instagram to personally thank Sandler for including her son in the movie. “Thank you (Adam Sandler) for honoring Cam’s legacy in Happy Gilmore 2,” she wrote in the caption alongside a photo of the scene.

Boyce played Keithie Feder, son of Sandler’s character Lenny Feder in “Grown Ups” and “Grown Ups 2.” Both movies were directed by original “Happy Gilmore” director Dennis Dugan. Sandler and “ Happy Gilmore 2 ″ director Kyle Newacheck filmed the sequel in New Jersey last fall.
