Missouri up to No. 15 in AP Poll after beating Auburn
The Missouri Tigers were rewarded on Sunday after their 23-17 double overtime defeat of the Auburn Tigers. In the latest AP Top 25, Missouri was bumped up one spot from No. 16 to No. 15. Week 8 of the college football season concluded four consecutive weeks of Auburn playing teams ranked in the top 25. That is life in the SEC, though.
The Big Ten and SEC have a hold on the top of the AP Top 25. The top six teams in Sunday's poll play in the two power conferences. That was a result of the Miami Hurricanes' loss to the Louisville Cardinals on Friday and consequent tumble from No. 2.
Despite beating the No. 25 Michigan Wolverines 31-13 on Oct. 11, the USC Trojans are no longer ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll entering week 9. Michigan being ranked over USC isn't the only controversy from the recent AP Top 25 rankings.
