Minnesota suspect Vance Boelter arrested after two-day manhunt, found with assault rifles and list of public officials following fatal shooting of former House Speaker Melissa Hortman.

IMPD arrested a suspect in a February quadruple shooting that killed one man and injured three others. The man who was arrested faces two felonies.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed this morning in what appears to be a "politically motivated assassination".

Vance Boelter, the suspect wanted for fatally shooting a Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband has reportedly been identified, according to the Associated Press.

Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, were shot and killed early Saturday morning in “what appears to be a politically-motivated assassination,” Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said at a news conference Saturday.

As of Saturday, June 13, the 41-year-old man who died has been identified as Thomas Antonio Jackson of Troy, police said. During the June 3 traffic stop on the white caravan, the man exited and fled southbound on foot, police said.
