A judge queried lawyers during closing arguments on Friday about how future competition should factor into his decision, which is expected by August.

Google will return to federal court Friday to fend off the U.S. Justice Department's attempt to topple its internet empire at the same time it's navigating a pivotal shift to artificial intelligence that could undercut its power.

Tech titan Google now intends to appeal a federal antitrust ruling which found that the company illegally monopolized the online search market. Google revealed the same in a a post on X, stating, “We will wait for the Court’s opinion. And we still strongly believe the Court’s original decision was wrong, and look forward to our eventual appeal.”
