49ers, Christian McCaffrey and Player of the Week
Digest more
Christian McCaffrey has his first 100-yard rushing game since 2023, helping the San Francisco 49ers beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-10 on Sunday night.
The problem has been kickoffs. Pineiro followed his third-quarter field goal with a line-drive kickoff the Falcons returned 45 yards to the 49ers’ 48-yard line. The play gave Atlanta momentum, and the Falcons converted it into a 10-yard catch-and-run touchdown to Robinson to close San Francisco’s lead to 13-10.
But Christian McCaffrey? It turns out the 49ers’ star running back is still playing. And boy, is he good. It took seven games — and the right defense — for McCaffrey to find his vintage form, but it was a sight to behold.
On the eve of the three-year anniversary of the San Francisco 49ers trading for Christian McCaffrey, he delivered one of his best performances in red and gold. The 49ers earned a 20-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons, improving their record to 5-2 and returning to the top of their division.
The shorthanded 49ers rode McCaffrey, who accounted for 201 yards rushing and receiving, to a big victory over Atlanta Sunday night.

Writer identifies surprising name as 49ers' biggest letdown
Bleacher Report contributor Brad Gagnon recently named every NFL team's most disappointing player so far this season, and his pick for the San Francisco 49ers may surprise fans—running back Christian McCaffrey.
Robinson and the Falcons will look to get back on track as they face the Miami Dolphins back in Atlanta on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET. The Falcons are currently second in the NFC South but could improve to 4-3 with a win over the 1-6 Dolphins in Week 8.
The post said McCaffrey signed a new five-year, $1.1 billion extension with $670 million in guaranteed money, becoming the first billion dollar deal in NFL history. The news is obviously fake. However, it has fooled many 49ers' fans across social media.
